Hey there, friends! With Easter just around the corner, I wanted to share with you a fun and easy DIY project that will help you add some festive cheer to your home. Today, we’re going to create a sustainable and simple Easter banner using materials that you probably already have around your house.

First things first, let’s gather our materials.
For this Easter banner, you’ll need:
- Colored paper or cardstock (or newspaper or old magazines – get creative)
- Twine or string
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Glue or double-sided tape
- Decorative embellishments (optional)
Now that we have our supplies, it’s time to get started!
Step 1: Cut out your banner shapes
Using your colored paper or cardstock, cut out your banner shapes. You can make these any size you want, but I recommend making them around 6 inches wide by 8 inches tall. You can use a pencil to draw out your banner shape on the back of the paper before cutting it out.

Step 2: Add your Easter designs
Next, it’s time to add your Easter designs to your banner. This is where you can get creative and have fun! You can draw Easter eggs, bunnies, flowers, or any other festive design onto your banner using colored pencils, markers, or even paint.
If you’re not feeling particularly artistic, you can also print out Easter designs from my freebie (get it here) and glue them onto your banner instead. Pinterest or Canva also has plenty of free Easter printables that you can use for this!
Step 3: Attach your banner to twine or string
Once you’ve decorated all of your banner pieces, it’s time to attach them to your twine or string. Cut your string to the desired length, leaving some extra on each end so you can hang your banner. Using glue or double-sided tape, attach your banner pieces to the string, leaving a little bit of space in between each one.

Step 4: Add embellishments (optional)
If you want to add a little something extra to your banner, you can use decorative embellishments like ribbon, pom-poms, or sequins – whatever you have around your home! Glue them onto your banner wherever you like for an extra pop of color and texture.
Step 5: Hang up your Easter banner and enjoy!
Now that your DIY Easter banner is complete, it’s time to hang it up and enjoy your handiwork! You can hang it on a mantel, over a doorway, or even outside on a porch.

This simple Easter banner is not only easy to make, but it’s also sustainable since you’re using materials that you already have around your house. Plus, it’s a great way to get into the festive spirit and add a little bit of joy to your home during this special time of year.
